The worst part is that at the time of contract termination, they decided to keep our entire $15,000 deposit, refusing to honor their previous quotes of $4,200 in non-refundible engineering costs. They claim to have integrity and put the customer first, but the truth is that they are a small sales office with an incompetent program management team lacking the ability to execute even the simplest projects. After MONTHS of arguing with their accounting team and fake legal department, I was able to recover $4,000 of the $11,000 we were owed. I’m shocked that they would rather burn us and pocket an extra $7,000 instead of honoring their commitments. Reading some of the other reviews from people who lost a lot more at the hands of Freedom Steel’s negligence makes me feel like we probably dodged a huge bullet cutting ties before our project got to production. The shockingly poor technical competence and ethics of this company means that they won’t be in business much longer. There are a lot of really good companies out there doing great work; I HIGHLY recommend choosing anyone else for your project. Jul 19, 2013 I lost all my money dealing with freedom steel in florida. I sent them money and they were supposed to ship me plans and a building and they just didn’t. They didn’t return my calls or emails or faxes they just kept my money so now I have got a lawyer and will sue them except they are in bankruptcy so I fear my money is lost forever I just wont get it back and won’t see it again. I made a terrible choice believing the lies and promises made by the woman who took my building order andmoney bianca morabito hackner. They lied about their financial situation and did not disclose that they are in Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. This company does not deliver on anything they promise and then they lie and say it is the buyer’s fault even when there is written documentation to prove otherwise. They claim that they have factories across the US but the truth is they are just an unregulated broker operating out of South Florida where there is no protection for the consumer. If you need a steel building find someone locally who has no complaints about their business practices and their products. Reliable companies can be found out there. Do not deal with any companies that don’t have legitimate pictures of themselves posted on their website as this is a sure giveaway that the business is questionable. They contract everything out. I was going to buy a building kit from them but checked them out and decided it was way too risky. Went with a wooden structure instead. When buying something from an online company it is really important to do your research before committing to sending anyone money. I recently found out they are in chapter 11 bankruptcy. I notice that freedom steel’s reviews seen very suspicious. Like this guy who said he came home and his wife had put together the whole steel building and bolted the pieces herself. Uh ya sure each piece weighs thousands of pounds. steel is heavy. The thing with testimonials is that they can easily be made up by the company to appear more legitamate than they are!!! I bought a building from a company on the west coast thats been in business 30 years with actual plants.
